Ampyr Energy USA (Ampyr) is seeking a Vice President of Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) Management to join our growing team in North America, focusing on the rapidly expanding renewable energy sector. The Vice President of EPC will be responsible for leading all aspects of design, engineering, procurement, and EPC management for Solar PV and Battery Storage projects across the U.S. From the early stages of project development through Notice to Proceed and physical site construction, this position will collaborate with Project Development, Power Marketing, Finance, Commercial Operations, and Legal to support the progression of projects from development to construction and commercial operations.
The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive background that encompasses both the commercial and technical facets necessary to lead project teams from pre-construction through the final completion of Solar + BESS and standalone BESS projects. This role requires a deep understanding of project design, RFP processes, vendor qualification, procurement strategies and safe harboring, construction management, risk mitigation, contract management, and the successful leadership of cross-functional teams in the renewable energy domain.
Depending on the candidate’s experience, the role could be adjusted to focus solely on Engineering and Procurement responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

Provide strategic and tactical guidance throughout the project life cycle on project design, cost basis, procurement strategies, implementation, and value enhancement.

Establish and maintain supply chain partnerships with EPC contractors and equipment suppliers, including gathering market intelligence on pricing and associated risks.

Support various project development activities, including early- and mid-stage design, to inform decisions on power marketing strategies and RFP responses.

Monitor projects nearing offtake commercialization and develop forward-looking procurement strategies for mid- and late-stage projects, including leading negotiations with suppliers for critical long-lead items.

Coordinate internal and external resources to execute early-stage design activities such as conceptual layouts, PV optimization, value engineering analyses, and interconnection planning.

Deliver comprehensive design packages—including civil, electrical, and structural components as applicable—to support permitting efforts and other development activities.

Conduct RFP processes, perform techno-commercial evaluations of vendor proposals, and negotiate financeable EPC agreements to align scope and schedule with interconnection agreements, offtake contracts, permitting requirements, and broader development objectives.

Lead constructability and technical reviews in collaboration with offtake, interconnection, project finance, and development teams. Responsibilities include site layout decisions, array configuration, equipment selection, design basis formulation, and coordination of electrical, civil, and structural scopes.

Develop, manage, and maintain detailed construction schedules and budgets in line with company protocols.

Take full accountability for delivering PV and BESS projects through grid connection and commercial operations, on time and within approved construction budgets.
Qualifications, Education, and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field focused on energy or energy development.

15+ years of relevant experience in Project Engineering, Procurement, and Construction of clean energy projects (Solar PV and Energy Storage) and/or utility-scale infrastructure.

Proven ability to manage multiple projects across various phases of design, development, and procurement.

Extensive experience in contract negotiation and management.

Strong understanding of the renewable energy market, with the ability to stay current on emerging technologies, regulations, and industry trends driving renewable energy adoption.

In-depth knowledge and professional network within the Solar and BESS supply chain, including familiarity with U.S.-specific regulations, technologies, and market trends.

Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and AutoCAD.
