Ampyr Energy USA (AMPYR) is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our growing team in North America, focusing on the rapidly expanding renewable energy sector. This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, with a clear path for career development, within a joint venture formed by two large multinational parent companies. We are looking for a qualified individual with relevant experience to manage the general ledger, provide US GAAP financial reports for both internal and external stakeholders, and develop and modify control processes as the company continues to grow.

Responsibilities

The following duties are included, but not limited to:

  • US GAAP Financial and Management Accounting: Oversee financial operations for the US business, including project SPVs, holding companies, and management companies.

  • Accounts Payable Management: Supervise accounts payable (A/P) invoice and payment entry, document management, and corporate credit card reconciliation.

  • Invoice Approvals and Vendor Communication: Facilitate invoice approvals and maintain clear communication with vendors.

  • Cash Management: Monitor bank balances, manage cash transfers, and oversee near-term cash management.

  • Monthly Closing Activities: Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations as part of the monthly closing process.

  • Financial Statement Preparation: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial statements, including balance sheets, statements of operations, and indirect method cash flow statements.

  • Budget vs Actual Reporting: Prepare budget versus actual reports and management accounts.

  • US GAAP Compliance: Demonstrate an understanding of US GAAP, particularly lease accounting.

  • Tax Support: Assist with sales and use tax, corporate income tax preparation, and tax inspections.

  • External Audit Liaison: Work closely with external auditors for the consolidated group audit.

  • Financial Reporting System Development: Contribute to the ongoing development of financial reporting systems and accounting processes.

Qualifications, Education and Experience

  • 3-4 years of experience in a top or mid-tier accounting firm or 5-7 years of experience as a senior accountant.

  • Experience in the energy industry or real estate is beneficial.

  • Strong proficiency in Excel.

  • Experience with SharePoint is beneficial.

  • Familiarity with accounting software systems.

  • NetSuite experience is preferred but not required.
